The 18-year-old goaltender was drafted by the OHL's Missisauga Steelheads and is now preparing to move to Canada at the end of August.

EHC Biel

Alessio Beglieri had already decided that he would take this step before the CHL Import Draft: "My agent had been in contact with Mississauga for quite some time," he says to the Journal du Jura. "The club wanted to be sure that I was ready to leave Biel and Europe before drafting me."

The young goaltender will thus join his new team in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) by the end of August when the pre-season camps take off: "The club has already arranged a host family for me." Until then, he will continue his summer practice with EHC Biel.
