The 17-year-old defenseman has agreed to terms with the Thunderbirds and will thus follow his brother Simon's path in playing in the WHL.

Kai Knak was drafted 46th overall by the Seattle Thunderbirds in the CHL Import Draft. “Kai is a young defenseman who can really skate, we feel that he will complement our young D core,” said General Manager Bil La Forge. “We look forward to seeing him at our training camp.”

Knak is a product of EHC Kloten's organization and recorded five goals and five assists in 38 regular-season games for their U20 team this past season.
