The men's hockey national team and its head coach Patrick Fischer were awarded "Team of the Year" and "Coach of the Year", respectively, for their bittersweet silver medal win following the 3-2 shootout loss to Sweden in the final of this year's IIHF World Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark. Overall, it is the national team's third World Championship silver medal after 1935 and 2013.

Highlights of the gold medal game between Switzerland and Sweden

Fischer faced Bruno Diethelm (national coach of the Elite and U23-mountain bikers) and Adi Hütter (ex-BSC Young Boys coach and 2018 Swiss Champion) in his category, whereas the silver boys had to prevail against the BSC Young Boys (2018 Swiss Champion) and Switzerland's alpine skiing team (Olympic gold medal in the Team Event discipline).
