As of October, major events with more than 1,000 spectators will again be possible - under strict protective measures.

In addition to the strict protective measures (which still have to be determined), the cantons will have to allow all major events with more than 1,000 spectators, the Federal Council informs. They may refuse applications if the epidemiological situation or their capacity for contact tracing does not allow it.

In collaboration with the relevant departments and the cantons, the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA) has been instructed to work out uniform approval requirements for major events until September 2.

If the start of the hockey season will be pushed back until October is not yet clear. The clubs will meet at an extraordinary league assembly on Friday to discuss today's decision of the Federal Council, Swiss Ice Hockey says in a first reaction:

There is, however, already a scenario on the table, in which the season may start on October 1, as Denis Vaucher, Director of the National and Swiss League confirmed last month.
