Will the Federal Council agree to subsidies for sports teams?

A total of CHF 115 million shall help the 44 professional teams and 89 semi-professional teams in the Swiss sports landscape, including hockey, football, basketball, volleyball, handball and floorball.
Still according to Zaugg, the money will be distributed on the basis of the number of spectators and the ticket prices in recent years.
If the Federal Council agrees, the financial help will be non-refundable, but not without strings attached. One condition: Every club that makes use of the subsidies will have to invest the same amount of money into their youth- and women's organizations as in the 2018-19 season.
