Swiss Ice Hockey

As the SIHF announces, they have agreed to terms with Infront Ringier Sports & Entertainment (IRSE) on a new contract. The Swiss Ice Hockey Cup will thus continue to exist for another four years (2017-18 untill 2020-21).

The financial compensation is equivalent to the previous contract. A total of CHF 1.5 million will be distributed among the participating clubs. These 1.5 million also contain the prize money for the Final (CHF 180,000.-). CHF 120,000.- is given to the winner, the loser gets CHF 60,000.-. However, as of next season, the winner of the Cup will also get additional CHF 100,000.- in prize money.

The National League clubs had already decided in November to keep the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup alive. However, they decided to make use of a clause in their contract with Infront Ringier Sports & Entertainment to renegotiate their deal.
