After HC Lugano's complaint against the league's single judges, the SIHF reacts and issues a statement. Victor Stancescu, for his part, steps down as deputy single judge with immediate effect.

The SIHF acknowledges that Victor Stancescu, as former professional hockey player, does indeed know a lot of people from the Swiss hockey scene and also cultivates a good and personal relationship to several of them. However, the SIHF points out that these ties with Roman Wick have been disclosed and communicated from the very beginning.

Moreover, in all discussions and hearings prior to Stancescu's election, it was clearly communicated that Stancescu is not going to judge any cases involving players of EHC Kloten or other players around the league he is close with.

Stancescu was unanimously elected the league's deputy single judge in last June's general assembly of the National League clubs. The SIHF underlines that - fully aware of these facts - also HC Lugano had cast their vote for Stancescu.

In order to guarantee a smooth operation of the league's justice department, Victor Stancescu has, however, decided to step down as deputy single judge with immediate effect.

In a press release issued by HC Lugano a little later, the club makes clear that they were never informed about Stancescu's business ties with Wick by the SIHF, neither before nor after his election as the league's deputy single judge.
