HC Davos is going to host the "Davos Hockey Summit" during the Olympic break from February 15 to 19, 2018. The participants are Metallurg Magnitogorsk, Kunlun Red Star (both KHL), and the Czech team HC Ocelari Trinec (Extraliga).

The tournament modus will have each team face every other opponent, thus, each team will play at least three games to get as much practice time as possible. The exact schedule is not yet known. Thanks to moderate ticket prices, the international tournament is expected to be a treat for all spectators during the holiday season.

With Metallurg, one of the best KHL teams of the last four years is participating in the "Davos Hockey Summit". They won the KHL championship in 2014 and 2016, as well as the Spengler Cup back in 2005.

Kunlun Red Star is the first Chinese hockey club to come to Davos. The club is part of the KHL since 2016 and has no fewer than 13 former NHL-players.

Finally, HC Ocelari Trinec with former HCD player Zbynek Irgl are currently in third place in the Czech League.
