The Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) takes hard measures against divers. As of the upcoming season, the league introduces a so-called "diving-list".

Players who are found guilty of diving or embellishment will be registered in this "diving-list" that will be accessible to all team managers, coaches, and referees. After the first offense, a player is going to be warned. If he dives a second time, his name will be registered on the list. From the the third time onward, the player will be fined - a fine that is going to be raised with every other similar offence.

The behaviour of a player could also give his coach a hard time: Starting with the fifth dive, not only the player but also the coach will have to pay a fine. "Our focus is that the games are safe and fair for the players and the teams," Jörg von Ameln, head of game operations of the DEL, explains. "A system that recognises and sanctions unsportsmanlike conduct in the form of diving or embellishment is another important step."
