The league now asks teams to "facilitate the return of AHL players to their primary residence". Earlier today, the NHL also announced that their players are allowed to return home, even if they have to leave North America for that.

The AHL is one of the many hockey leagues around the globe which put a hold on - or, in other cases, canceled - its season due to the outbreak of Covid-19 (coronavirus). Currently, the only major league still operating is the KHL which will now take a one-week break in order to create a new playoff format for the six remaining teams.
