Mattias Bäckman returns home, joins his youth team in Linköping

In mid-February this year, Linköping's GM Fredrik Emvall revealed that the club was close to signing Bäckmann prior to the SHL's transfer window closure, as both Kloten and and Linköping HC had agreed upon a transfer in principle. However, the deal did not come through in the end.

The 25-year-old joined EHC Kloten from the Dallas Stars organization in summer last year on a one-year contract. In a total of 51 games for EHCK this season (including League Qualification), Bäckmann managed to put up three goals and 11 assists.
