For the 28-year-old, it would be a return to his former club. He had played for Brynäs since the junior stages until he moved to the AHL's Chicago Wolves in 2012. After two years, he returned to Brynäs and after a short stint with the Vancouver Canucks, he joined HC Davos during the 2017-18 season.

This season, Rödin has appeared in 22 games for HC Davos, in which he recorded five goals and two assists.
