"The professional hockey career is over," Dick Axelsson confirms to Expressen. "I feel that it is a good situation. At the same time, it feels like I probably could have had a couple of good years in me. But the motivation has not been at its peak, at the same time there have been no spectators, and I feel that it is time to take up the civilian career."

From 2014 to 2017, Axelsson has played in Switzerland for HC Davos. In 113 games for them, the forward scored 33 goals and added 57 assists. In 2015, he celebrated the Swiss championship with HCD.
