Originally, the KHL wanted to postpone the ongoing playoffs but that is now no longer possible due to the "negative development of the epidemiological situation". Whether or not a champion will be declared has yet to be determined.
The KHL is the latest league to cancel its season. On Sunday, the Canadian Hockey League (OHL, WHL, QMJHL) also announced that the playoffs would be canceled and the Memorial Cup would not take place this season.
