The winners of the European Hockey Awards were announced today. Several representatives of the National League were nominated.

Christian Wohlwend

Christian Wohlwend (HC Davos) and Rikard Grönborg (ZSC Lions) were nominated for the "Coach of the Year"-Award. The category was won by Jussi Ahokas, the coach of Liiga-team KooKoo Kouvola.

Benjamin Baumgartner was nominated in the "Young Player of the Year"-Award. The 20-year-old forward had to take a backseat to Luleå Hockey's 19-year-old defenseman Nils Lundkvist.

In the fourth category, the Warrior Career Excellence"-Award, 38-year-old Joel Lundqvist of Frölunda HC took home the win. As already reported earlier this afternoon, the ZSC Lions won in the "Team of the Year" category.
