The Alliance of European Hockey Clubs presented their awards in Prague tonight.

Dan Tangnes, who led his team to two consecutive National League titles, received the Coach of the Year award. The award is given to a coach "who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership resulting in his club’s outstanding performance or vastly improved record from the previous season."

Cam Abbott (Rögle BK), Serge Aubin (Eisbären Berlin), Jussi Tapola (Tappara Tampere), and Václav Varaďa (Oceláři Třinec) were the other nominees in the category.

Andres Ambühl. for his part, received the Career Excellence Award, a trophy given to a player "who over a career span, has exemplified the qualities of sportsmanship and dedication, combined with community service and involvement and with a high standard of playing ability."

Ambühl was nominated together with Roman Červenka (SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers), Sebastian Furchner (Grizzlys Wolfsburg), Thomas Koch (EC-KAC), and Joakim Lindström (Skellefteå AIK).
