Ramon Untersander's comeback did not go as he expected. On Tuesday, the 28-year-old was back in SC Bern's lineup after suffering a head injury during a game against EHC Biel on September 29. That injury caused him to have balance problems and headaches. Nonetheless, after about one month and a half, he was cleared for action. However, during the second period of the game against Genève-Servette HC, the headache returned and therefore he was forced to leave the game. Until he is fully recovered and strong enough, the defenceman will be unavailable.

Untersander already suffered from this kind of problem in the past. Three years ago he missed two months, and also during the 2017 World Championships he suffered from a similar injury. As the Blick reports, the cause of the dizziness seems to be a dysfunction of the saccule, an organ in the inner ear involved in the detection of head movements, and therefore important for balance.

Untersander is now in his tenth NL season, the fourth with SC Bern and he recorded four points in six games. Overall, in 335 games he scored 44 goals and put up 104 assists, for a total of 148 points.
