"The good news is that the operation went well. Three bones had to be replaced with screws and plates. Jonas was able to leave the hospital and return home on Thursday already," Lausanne HC's team manager Jan Alston told 24 heures.

Alston added that Junland will start his rehabilitation program with physiotherapy sessions on January 2 but that it would still be too early at this point in time to know if he will play again before the end of the regular season.

When asked about the signing of another import-player to replace the team's current top scorer (25 points in 27 games), Alston replied: "No... we will let the two games of the weekend pass and then we will identify our needs for the next one."

According to 24 heures, Alston will be closely following potential reinforcements at the Spengler Cup next week, although the club's priority could be the signing of a foreign netminder, since Luca Boltshauser is expected to be out for up to two more months.
