On HC Fribourg-Gottéron's side, defenceman Philippe Furrer left the ice towards the locker room and after a hit by SC Bern's Simon Moser in the third period, MySports writes. He did not return for the night.

Furrer, for his part, was able to leave the hospital on Sunday. According to La Liberté's Pierre Schouwey, he has not fractured his ribs but will have to undergo further medical exams on Monday.

On the Bears' side, blueliner Eric Blum did also not finish the game, as the Keystone-SDA reports. He was on the receiving end of a hit by Tristan Vauclair.

Bern ended up winning the match-up 2-0.
