Recent rumors about van Pottelberghe being out with an injury turned out to be true. According to a report from the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, the goaltender had to undergo an MRI after sustaining an undisclosed injury already in the first period of Sunday's Game 2.

Since the nature and severity of injuries are usually not being communicated by the clubs during the playoffs, it remains unclear how long EHC Kloten will have to deal without him.

Van Pottelberghe joined Kloten on loan from HC Davos in November last year. In the first two games of the playoff quarterfinals, he posted a save percentage of 92.45% and a goals against average of 1.87.
