“I think he would play if tonight was a playoff game,” head coach DeBoer said to NBCSports. “I think we’re just being cautious with it. He’s a little sore, but he’s going to be OK.”

Meier sustained an undisclosed injury in Thursday's game against the Edmonton Oilers. As he fell awkwardly on his wrist in the game, Kevin Kurz (The Athletic) speculated that he might be dealing with an injury on his left wrist. This was not confirmed, though.

Timo Meier had a breakout season with the Sharks, posting 30 goals and 36 assists in 78 games. He now holds the single-season record for most points scored by a Swiss player in the NHL. The San Jose Sharks will face the Vegas Golden Knights in the first round of the playoffs.
