Medical Report

After two years of pain, the 26-year-old and Genève-Servette HC decided that a wrist-surgery is necessary.

Wrist surgery for Tanner Richard.

Tanner Richard and the club made the decision right after GSHC lost their quarterfinal series to SC Bern, Grégory Beaud (Sport-Center) writes in the online edition of 20 minutes. Richard underwent surgery right away and should be back for the start of the new season.

This is also the reason why the 26-year-old will not be able to suit up for the Swiss national team at the World Championship in Slovakia between May 10 and May 26.

In addition to Richard, also Reto Schäppi and Pius Suter (ZSC Lions), as well as Joël Vermin (Lausanne HC) and Gilles Senn (HC Davos) will not make the trip to Slovakia.
