Watson reports that Thomas Rüfenacht broke his finger during the playoffs, where he scored three goals and recorded five assists in 17 games. On the other hand, Andrew Ebbett sustained a hand fracture even before the Spengler Cup. He concealed this injury - not to miss the Spengler Cup - and the injury healed again. However, the fracture did not grow together properly and must now be operated.

Moreover, in the course of the quarter-final series between SC Bern and Genève-Servette HC, the Canadian also broke his finger. Nonetheless, with eleven points in 18 games, he was the second best scorer for the Bears in the playoffs.
