According to club's medical report page, Richard sustained a yet to be disclosed injury in the season opener on the road in Langnau on Friday. For the game against Biel, it was Latvian youngster Deniss Smirnovs who took over his spot on the first line.
Last season, Richard managed to put up 43 points (eight goals, 35 assists) in a total of 55 Championship games with Genève-Servette HC.
