"During last night's game, Kevin Fiala sustained a fracture of his left femur. He underwent successful surgery and is resting comfortably," Poile states.
Last night, the 20-year-old forward crashed feet-first into the boards following a hit by the St. Louis Blues' defenseman Robert Bortuzzo. Fiala had to be stretchered off the ice and was then taken to a nearby hospital.
