In a first version of the CHL article about the league rankings, the National League was shown to end up in fifth place after this edition of the tournament. That was, however, not correct.

The National League teams did not have the best showing in this season's edition of the Champions Hockey League. As a consequence, they might lose one allocation. This will, however, depend on how the season progresses. It will thus take some time until it is clear on which place the National League will end the 2021-22 CHL season.

EV Zug, HC Lugano and Lausanne HC all did not make it out of the group stage this year. The two teams that did - HC Fribourg-Gottéron as first seed and the ZSC Lions as a second seed - lost in the first round of the knockout stage.
