The Board of the Champions Hockey League has decided not to allocate a wild card to the Continental Cup winner for 2023-24. The reason for the decision is the reduction of the competing teams in the CHL from 32 to 24 next season.
A decision for future seasons, however, does not yet seem to have been taken. Potential future cooperation with the IIHF Continental Cup will be reviewed between the CHL and the IIHF, the CHL's statement says.
