Forwards Chris Baltisberger, Fabrice Herzog, Reto Schäppi (ZSC Lions), Grégory Hofmann (HC Lugano), as well as ZSC-defenseman Dave Sutter have all been called up by Switzerland's head coach Patrick Fischer.

The Tages-Anzeiger reported earlier today that ZSC's Geering, Marti, Suter and Chris Baltisberger are unlikely to join the national team as they are supposedly dealing with injuries. At least Baltisberger's injury (foot), however, seems not to be too serious.

Defensemen Tobias Geisser (EV Zug), Romain Loeffel (Genève-Servette HC), Claude-Curdin Paschoud (HC Davos) as well as forwards Yannick-Lennart Albrecht (SCL Tigers), Simon Bodenmann (SC Bern), Killian Mottet (HC Fribourg-Gottéron), and Calvin Thürkauf (Cleveland Monsters/AHL), on the other hand, did not make the cut.

The final roster for the 2018 World Championship in Copenhagen, which will start with the first preliminary game against Austria on Saturday, May 5, will be announced in the course of next week. It will come to one more change each on the position of defensemen and forwards.
