Reto Kirchhofer (Berner Zeitung/Tamedia AG) reported earlier today that Meier would like to join the Swiss national team and that a decision would likely be made by tonight. Timo Meier's run for the Stanley Cup with the San Jose Sharks ended last night with a 3-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights (who won the series 4-2). Meier will take a flight out of California tonight and should be able to join the Swiss team on Tuesday. However, it is not yet clear if he will suit up for the game then.

"My energy level is still good. In any case, I have been preparing for a long season. And if we had advanced, I would have played even more. It's a good test for the body", the 21-year-old forward tells the news agency. He comes off his first full season with the San Jose Sharks. In 81 regular season games for them, he recorded 21 goals and 15 assists.
