IIHF World Championship

Patrick Fischer has invited eight players from the National League finals and four NHL players to the preparation camp.

For the last phase of the preparation for this year's World Championship, Patrick Fischer has added several players. From newly-crowned Swiss champion EV Zug netminder Leonardo Genoni, defensemen Raphael Diaz, Tobias Geisser and Santeri Alatalo as well as forwards Grégory Hofmann and Dario Simion join. From finalist Genève-Servette HC forwards Noah Rod and Joël Vermin join.

There are also four players from overseas that will be part of the new roster. The New Jersey Devils have released defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler as well as forward Nico Hischier, the Chicago Blackhawks send Philipp Kurashev and the San Jose Sharks will be represented by Timo Meier.

All members of the national team are currently in quarantine. They will be tested for Covid-19 on Monday and, if everything goes according to plan, will fly to Riga on Thursday.
