Jakub Kovář started the season with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. With the exception of the 2016-17 season, the Czech only ever played for the KHL team in the last nine years.
Kovář joined the ZSC Lions in December. He did, however, already disclose at the end of March that he would leave Switzerland at the end of the season. As he told the Tages-Anzeiger at the time, he wanted to return to his native country as his son would start school this autumn and he wanted to be present for that.
Tomorrow will thus be Kovář's last game with the Lions. The goaltender appeared in 14 regular-season games for them, posting a .932 save percentage. In the playoffs, he has been in the net 14 times thus far.
