The Spartans play in one of the second-highest division of the American college leagues NCAA and ECAC. Beside playing hockey for the Spartans, the 22-year-old will study sports administration and graphic design at the Castleton University in Vermont.

Practice with her new team starts at the end of August. Until then, Abgottspon hopes to join the Swiss Women's national team for their development camp in July and also for the Mont Blanc Cup in mid-August.

Over the course of the past four years, the 22-year-old won the Swiss Championship with the HC Lugano Ladies twice.
