Switzerland will play opening game of World Juniors against Slovakia

The IIHF has released the schedule of the tournament, which will take place in a "bubble" in Edmonton from December 25 to January 5.

Marco Bayer's team will open the tournament in Edmonton.

In the first game of the tournament, which will be played on December 25 at 12:00 local time (20:00 CET), Switzerland will face Slovakia at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Further opponents of the Swiss team in Group A will be Finland (Dec. 27, 20:00 CET), Canada (Dec. 30, 00:00 CET), and Germany (Dec. 31, 00:00 CET).

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the IIHF already decided earlier that the tournament will take place. Just like the NHL-playoffs, however, the World Juniors will be held in a "bubble" in Edmonton's Rogers Place without any spectators present.
