This year's edition of the (U20) World Junior Championships is going to take place in Edmonton, starting on December 25. For the preparation, which will kick off about three weeks earlier, the Swiss U20 junior national team's head coach Marco Bayer has called up four goaltenders, twelve defenseman and 18 forwards. Until the start of the tournament, the roster will be cut down to three goalies and 22 skaters.

Due to the restrictions related to Covid-19, the teams will be going into a "bubble" in Edmonton. Only players that are part of the preparation rosters are allowed to eventually attend Worlds, which means there are no replacements for injured players.

Bayer states that they want to play for a medal. The minimum goal is to make the quarterfinals.
