On December 13, head coach Marco Bayer and his boys will begin preparation for the U20 tournament in Canada.

The 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships will take place from December 26 to January 5 in Edmonton and Red Deer in Alberta, Canada. During the preparation period, Marco Bayer will have to cut four players to get to a roster composed of three goaltenders and 22 field players. The final roster will be announced on Christmas Eve.

The Swiss team will play three test games against Canada (December 19), Germany (December 21), and the Czech Republic (December 23). Switzerland will then start the tournament against Russia on December 27. The other group opponents are the USA (December 28), Slovakia (December 30), and Sweden (December 31).
