IIHF Women's World Championship

The forward of the Swiss national team strongly reacted on Instagram to the last-minute cancellation of the tournament.

The Swiss national team believes that women's hockey deserves better.

Three days ago, the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship that should have been held in Nova Scotia (Canada), was cancelled due to safety concerns regarding the virus. Müller, on behalf of the whole team, recognizes that the priority of the authorities and the organizers is the health of everyone involved, but does not accept how the decision was taken, especially after all the sacrifices required to participate in the tournament: "What we do not accept is how they make us go through all of this to cancel the event one day before boarding the plane to Halifax."

"This cancellation is totally unacceptable and devastating for the growth of women's hockey. It is absolutely outrageous to do this to the best women's hockey players in the world, taking away the best platform to grow the game of women's hockey worldwide" continues the star of the Northeastern University (NCAA).

The IIHF and Hockey Canada will attempt to find new dates for the tournament to be held this summer.
