Switzerland had to come back from a 0-1 deficit after the second period, and they did. Sinja Leemann managed to score the equalizer in the 47th minute of play. With a 1-1 the two teams went into overtime, but neither Switzerland nor Japan managed to decide the game.

In the shootout, Alina Marti and – again – Sinja Leemann scored for Switzerland. None of the Japanese hit the target.

The Swiss team is thus moving on to the semifinal. Puck-drop will be on Saturday. Time and opponent have yet to be determined.
