When HC Sierre moved to the finals it was already clear that an additional club from the Valais will play in the Swiss League next season. But because HC Valais-Chablais eliminated Hockey Huttwil in the all-decisive Game 5 of the semifinal series yesterday thanks to a 4-2 victory on the road, it is not yet clear which Valaisan club is going to be promoted.

A question, which might not even be answered on the ice. Both Sierre and HCV have applied for a promotion. The league, however, has rejected HCV's application, which caused them to file an appeal. If the league stands by their decision, HC Sierre is going to be promoted to the Swiss League, even if they lose the final series.

While Sierre has their fate in their own hands, HCV has to win both on and off the ice. The first game of the Best-of-Five final series will take place in Sierre on Saturday, March 16.
