After several press articles these days about a possible participation of HC Sierre in the MySports League for the 2017-18 season, the club's board of directors has issued a statement today.

In the press release, HC Sierre confirms that the club was requested by the Regio League (informal) for a possible participation in the MySports League for the 2017-18 season already on Friday last week.

The Regio League asked HC Sierre to position itself as soon as possible, which then prompted the club's leadership to invite all players including the technical department to submit their comments.

As a result of this meeting, the board of directors decided to give the League a positive response to this request, despite the fact that this decision will be accompagnied with various problems (finances, planning, logistics).

The Valaisan team points out that it is now the League's turn to take a stand and to officially confirm that it wants HC Sierre to participate in the MySports League for the 2017-18 season, which will start on Saturday this week.

Yesterday, the SIHF announced the suspension of HC Université Neuchâtel, because the club apparently did not comply with the requirements to play in the newly established, third-highest League of Switzerland. The club from Neuchâtel, however, informed that it will appeal against this decision.
