Only twelve of the team's players will have their first experience at the Olympic Games. Most already got the opportunity to play in an Olympic tournament. The record-holder is Nicole Bullo: she will wear the Swiss jersey at the Olympics for the fifth time in her career.

It is the goal of the team to confirm their results of the last World Championship and play for the medals in Beijing. The team will prepare for the tournament with two "bubble"-practices on January 17 and 19. As of January 22, they will make their final preparations as the OYM in Cham. They will travel to Beijing on January 26.
