The Swiss have shown their best performance of the tournament so far in this rematch of the bronze medal game from four years ago. They were able to improve in comparison to the game against Japan, were more lively, more consequential and also thinking faster than the Swedes. However, they did not make enough out of their advantages to decide the game early on.

It speaks for the Swiss' level that they never lost the overview of the game and scored both goals on the powerplay. In the second period, Alina Müller scored the first goal with a one-timer after a passing play with Lara Stalder and Christine Meier, Phoebe Staenz scored the game-winning goal - after Sweden managed to equalize the score on the power play - with eight minutes to go on a redirection in front of the net. Both goals were assisted by Christine Meier, the best defender on the Swiss team.

Who Switzerland's opponent in their second Olympic quarterfinal after Sotschi in 2014 will be is going to be decided tomorrow. Judging by the performances, Finland is the favorite in the game against the Olympic Athletes from Russia. So far, both teams have remained pointless. This means that there is a possibility for a Sotschi-rematch. Four years ago, Switzerland won against Russia and advanced to the semifinals. Now, in contrast to that game, the team of head coach Daniela Diaz has the drive and the confidence from three wins in the preliminary round.
