Earlier this day, there were rumors flying around that the 29-year-old Swede would leave his team Ässät Pori in the Finnish Liiga and join a team in Switzerland, which he now did. He will be the seventh import player on the roster of EHC Biel and will probably serve as an injury replacement for several players, who are still out of EHC Biel's line-up.

In the current season, Umicevic has scored a total of 38 points, including five goals, in 52 games. The former draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers has also played 401 games in the Swedish SHL, registering 210 points between 2003 and 2011. He will arrive in Biel tomorrow and start training with the team on Thursday.

Additionally, HC Ajoie's David Stämpfli is joining EHC Biel via B-license until the end of the season. The 23-year-old defenseman has scored 31 points in 45 games for HC Ajoie this season.
