Every year, the most promising European youth-players get picked in the CHL*-draft. Last year, the ZSC Lions already lost their then 17-year-old defenseman Phil Baltisberger and the 16-year-old forward Pius Suter to Guelph Storm in the OHL.

Of course, also for the 16-year-old talent Jonas Siegenthaler, who played his first games for the National League A team of the ZSC Lions this season, the CHL-draft was an option. However, as the Tages Anzeiger reports, Siegenthaler has decided against a move to North America next year and will pursue his career in Zurich.

*The CHL (Canadian Hockey League) is an organization that represents the three Canadian-based major junior leagues WHL (Western Hockey League), OHL (Ontarian Hockey League) and QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League).
