NLA - As Le Tribune de Genève reports, Genève-Servette HC has signed young talent Noah Road to a four-year contract. He would thus stay with the Grenats until 2018.

The 17-year-old forward, who is turning 18 on Saturday, seems to have been able to convince team manager and head coach Chris McSorley to sign him to a long-term contract, even though the young man has his eyes set on the NHL. However, he already said back in May that he would like to finish his apprenticeship in Geneva, before going over to the USA.

Rod will leave Switzerland on Friday in order to get to a training camp in Chicago, which is attended by young talents who are likely to be selected at this year's NHL Entry Draft on June 27/28 in Philadelphia. He has been scouted by various teams - among them the Tampa Bay Lightning - during this season and is likely to be drafted.

Noah Rod has completed a total of 40 games with the Grenats this past season, scoring two goals and five assists. Furthermore, he has also played 33 games (18 goals, 22 assists) with GSHC's Elite A team. His contract will last until the end of the 2017/18 season.
