As Konrad Müller, member of the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers' Board of Directors, confirmed to Die Südostschweiz, their president Lucas H. Schluep has indeed stepped down. Schluep apparently resigned as a consequence from massive threats that had been directed at him over the course of the last few days.

According to the same source, Schluep had to be protected by the police after Monday's third loss in the League Qualification series against the SCL Tigers. (tme)

UPDATE The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers confirm the resignation of their president Lucas H. Schluep: "Shortly after the third period, threats have been published on the internet," the Lakers write in a press release. "Where personal integrity is no longer respected and family members are being vilified, the limit of reasonableness has been reached." The Lakers will inform about Schluep's successor soon.
