SC Bern has announced the signing of three-time Swiss champion with HC Davos, Leonardo Genoni, for three years starting next season. The netminder will thus stay with the Bears at least until 2019.

Leonardo Genoni has played with HC Davos since 2007 and was able to celebrate the win of the Swiss championship three times (2009, 2011, 2015) and was also awarded the trophy for Best Goaltender after the 2010-11 and the 2014-15 seasons.

The acquisition of Genoni also means that current starter Marco Bührer's contract with SCB will not be extended after this season. The 35-year-old has been with the Bears since 2001. (lcu)
