In December, Kostner himself stated that he would indeed like to stay with the Bianconeri. At that time, it was already speculated that both EHC Biel and HC Ambrì-Piotta were interested in the services of the 23-year-old Italian.

Kostner, who is in possession of a Swiss license and thus does not count as an import player, joined HC Lugano's Elite A team in 2009 and made his NLA debut for the Bianconeri in the 2011-12 season. This term thus far, he has played 42 NLA games for them, scoring one goal and three assists. (bsc)

UPDATE In the meantime, HC Ambrì-Piotta has confirmed that they have signed Diego Kostner to a two-year contract. He will thus stay with the Biancoblù until 2018. (bsc) - 15 February 2016, 11:05 AM
