Saikkonen is not an unknown in Switzerland. The native of Bern who is in possession of a Swiss, a Swedish, and a Finnish passport had played and lived in Switzerland until 2013, when he moved to Finland. During the 2014-15 season he also played four games on loan with HC Ambrì-Piotta. (tme)

Netminder Dennis Saikkonen returns to Switzerland. The 23-year-old has signed a one-year contract with HC Fribourg-Gottéron, where he will back up starting goalie Benjamin Conz in the upcoming season.
