As La Regione reports, EHC Biel is apparently close to signing Kris Versteeg. Last week, Darren Dreger (TSN) had already reported that if no deal in the NHL were to fit his needs, there is interest from Switzerland.

The 30-year-old Canadian forward last played for the L.A. Kings, scoring five goals and two assists in 19 games. In 639 NHL games for the Chicago Blackhawks, the Carolina Hurricanes, the Kings, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Florida Panthers, he scored 148 goals and 209 assists. (mso)
