Genève-Servette HC has officialized the signing of forward Nick Spaling. As the club announces, they have signed the 27-year-old Canadian to a one-year deal with the option for another year.

Just yesterday the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and the Tribune de Genève, wrote about Spaling being the GSHC's fourth import player. The other players of Geneva's import quartet are Jim Slater, Mike Santorelli and Johan Fransson.

Spaling was drafted by the Predators in 2007. The 27-year-old forward, who was part of the Sharks' run to the Stanley Cup Final, has appeared in 494 NHL games (55 goals, 81 assists) for the Nashville Predators, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Toronto Maple Leafs and San Jose. (abu/mso)
